Kayaks & Canoeing

Teller County offers visitors and residents many areas to test their kayak or canoe water skills while also enjoying our beautiful Rocky Mountain scenery. Almost every corner of the county is near a stream or lake that will entice you to risk getting wet as you explore a new bend in the stream or paddle towards the opposite lake shoreline.

You can begin your water adventure on several nearby lakes:
  • Manitou Lake north of Woodland Park
  • Rampart Reservoir east of Woodland Park
  • Skaguay Reservoir in Victor
  • Eleven Mile Reservoir
  • Spinney Mountain State Park

If you prefer stream or whitewater paddling you might explore the South Platte at Deckers about 20 minutes north of Woodland Park. Another area is along the Tarryall river just west of Lake George.
